PPATK Discovers Rp 560 Billion Funds from Papua Governor Lukas Enembe Flowing to a Casino Abroad

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Papua Governor, Lucas Enembe has been named as a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for alleged Bribery and gratification.

Regarding the case, the Center for Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis (PPATK) stated that it had found suspicious financial transactions from Lucas Enembe.

The head of PPATK, Ivan Yustiavandana, said PPATK found Papua Governor Lukas Enembe's cash deposit to a Gambling Casino with a value of $55 million or equivalent to Rp 560 billion.

"It's a cash deposit made within a certain period," Ivan said at a press conference at the office of the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, Monday, September 19, 2022.

Ivan said the amount was an accumulation of money that was allegedly deposited by Lukas into the Casino. He said that PPATK had found in one transaction, Lukas was suspected of depositing up to $5 million.

"That's fantastic value," he said.

According to Ivan, deposits to Gambling casinos are only one of the 12 results of the analysis of the Papua Governor's suspicious financial transactions. According to him, there was also a deposit of US$ 55,000 which was allegedly used to buy a watch.

"The results of the analysis have all been submitted to the KPK," he explained.

Meanwhile, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) emphasized that there was no other interest in the investigation into the alleged Bribery and gratification case of Papua Governor Lukas Enembe.

"We emphasize that the KPK has no other interest other than purely law enforcement as a follow-up to public reports," explained KPK spokesman Ali Fikri, Monday, September 19, 2022.

Before ensnaring Lukas Enembe as a suspect, Ali continued, KPK investigators had found sufficient evidence related to the criminal act committed by the Democrat Party politician.
