JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian National Police have detained the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Penjaringan Sectoral Police, Adjunct Commissioner (AKP) M. Fajar, and seven of his members in connection with the case of abuse of authority in the prosecution of online gambling cases by Fajar and his staff.
Polda Metro Jaya Police Spokesperson, Chief Commissioner Endra Zulpan explained that AKP M. Fajar and seven of his members were officially detained in a special place (patsus) at SPN Lido, West Java, on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
"As of yesterday (Tuesday) for 8 personnel from Kanit to assistant investigators, special investigations were carried out for 30 days from September 6 to October 5, 2022," explained Endra Zulpan in a press release, Wednesday, September 7, 2022.
According to Zulpan, as long as he is placed in the Special Forces, the investigators from the Internal Affairs Division of the National Police are ready to complete the case files of the 8 personnel.
Furthermore, the sanctions for violations committed by Fajar and his staff will be decided in the process of the code of ethics trial.
"If the file is complete, the code of ethics will immediately be tried," he said.
Zulpan said that for his actions, AKP M. Fajar was threatened with dishonorable dismissal (PTDH).
"Yes (threatened) by PTDH. PTDH means being dismissed with disrespect," said Zulpan, Friday, September 2, 2022.
AKP M. Fajar along with seven of his members were arrested by the National Police Internal Affairs Division on Monday, August 29, 2022. This arrest was made in connection with the abuse of authority in online gambling cases.
