JAKARTADAILYL.ID – Chairman of the Human Rights Commission Ahmad Taufan Damanik said that the former Head of Police Internal Affairs Ferdy Sambo has pleaded guilty to masterminding the murder of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat, also known as Brigadier J

Sambo, now relieved of his former position as Head of Internal Affairs of the police, said that he wants Bharada Richard Eliezer acquitted of charges.

"He said that (he wanted to free Bharada E). So we'll see. But the most important thing, I think (is that it's) Richard's lawyer's job to fight for it (freedom)," Taufan told reporters, Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

"But the main thing is, I suppose, is that it's something Richard's lawyer should fight for, for Mister Ronny to defend the rights (of his client)," said Taufan.

"While he (Bharada E) has confessed, it's not our place to say that he has not committed a crime. But in his argument as the defense later (in court), hopefully, the judge will decide," he continued.

Taufan explained that Ferdy Sambo admitted his guilt for ordering Bharada E to shoot Brigadier J. He said that this two-star general would also be responsible for involving many people.

"That's why at that time I asked him (Ferdy Sambo), 'do you feel that you have made your young subordinates involved in this problem', 'yes sir, I was wrong, I'll be responsible for everything," he added.
