Indonesian Police to Investigate Individual that Uploaded Video on Ferdy Sambo's 'Bunker' Money

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police through the Directorate of Cyber ​​Crimes is conducting an investigation into the "hoax" that claimed a "bunker" with Rp 900 billion was discovered at Ferdy Sambo's official residence.

In the wake of the case of the premeditated murder of Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat, or Brigadier J, a rumor and a video surfaced online that claimed that several suitcases filled with money allegedly belonging to Ferdy Sambo were found in his "bunker."

National Police spokesperson Insp. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo denied said claims, further stating that no such bunkers were ever found.

"Dit Tipid Cyber ​​is investigating the case," explained Inspector General Pol Dedi Prasetyo to reporters, in Jakarta, Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

Dedi confirmed that the post on a Twitter social media account was fake news.

"Yes, it's not true. The information is a hoax," said Dedi.

According to Dedi, the special team appointed to investigate the case has conducted searches in various locations, including Ferdy Sambo's official residence where Brigadier J was tortured and murdered.

Investigators also confiscated several pieces of evidence. However, no bunker containing Rp 900 billion was confiscated.

"Whatever is confiscated is for evidence later in court. Timsus conducts an investigation with pro-justitia steps," he concluded.
