Indonesian National Police Commission Urges National Police to Hold Ethics Session for Ferdy Sambo

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian National Police Commission (Kompolnas) asks the National Police to immediately conduct a Police Professional Code of Ethics Commission Session against Inspector General Pol Ferdy Sambo.

The Commissioner of National Police, Poengky Indarti, emphasized that with the trial of the code of ethics strict sanctions can be applied to him.

"Kompolnas encourages the FS code of ethics trial to be carried out immediately so that the person concerned can be immediately decided by PTDH or fired," Kompolnas Commissioner Poengky Indarti explained to reporters, Thursday, August 18, 2022.

According to Poengky, Kompolnas can certainly recommend to the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, that members or police officers who violate discipline, code of ethics, or criminal acts can be dealt with in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

"Kompolnas will attend the trial of the code of ethics," said Poengky.

Previously, Kompolnas welcomed the appointment of Inspector General of Police Ferdy Sambo as a suspect in the case of Brigadier J's death. This is proof of the transparency and performance of the Police.

A member of the National Police Commission, Yusuf Warsyim, said that his party supports and appreciates the openness of the Police in the series of investigation processes up to the investigation into the death of Brigadier J.

 "We appreciate what has been conveyed by the National Police Chief. The mastermind behind Brigadier J's death has been clear. From the start, I have asked the Police to be transparent," said Yusuf.

"Now that it has been realized, there is no fact that a shootout resulted in the death of Brigadier J," he continued

General Ferdy Sambo himself has been named a suspect in the death of Brigadier Norfiansyah Yoshua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J. He is suspected of Article 340 of the Criminal Code concerning premeditated murder with the threat of death or life imprisonment.
