President Joko Widodo Lauds Indonesian Resilience During Times of Crises

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo said that Indonesians should be grateful that the country is able to persevere through tough times.

Meanwhile, other countries in the world are currently faced with very difficult and not easy challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic followed by the Russia-Ukraine war.

“In the midst of tough challenges, we should be grateful, that Indonesia is one of the countries that is able to face this global crisis,” said President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in his speech at the Indonesian House of Representative (MPR) Annual Session, Tuesday morning, August 16, 2022.

Jokowi said that Indonesia can be counted as one of the countries that has succeeded in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, including the top five countries with the most vaccinations in the world.

“We have injected 432 million doses of vaccine," said President Jokowi.

In facing the pandemic, the President continued, the Indonesian nation has shown itself to be a formidable nation. All components of the nation synergize with each other in efforts to deal with the pandemic. The ability to manage this pandemic, continued Jokowi, is one of Indonesia's great strengths in managing other major agendas.

"This is our first strength to build our country, Indonesia," said the President.
