JAKARTADAILY.ID – Former internal affairs chief, Insp. Gen. Ferdy Sambo has finally admitted to masterminding the murder of Brigadier J, also known as Nopryansah Yosua Hutabarat.
Ferdy's confession was made while he was under investigation by a special team formed by National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo, at the Mobile Corps Brigade headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java, on Thursday, August 11, 2022.
Ferdy's confession was relayed by the Director of General Crimes of the National Police Brig. Gen. Andi Rian Djajadi. Andi revealed that Ferdy had confessed to planning the murder of Brig. Yosua since he returned from his trip to Magelang, Central Java.
"FS (Ferdy Sambo) said that he was enraged and emotional after receiving a report from his wife PC (Putri Candrawati) who had experienced an act that hurt the dignity of the family that occurred in Magelang by Brigadier J," Andi said as quoted by Tempo.co on Thursday.
Whilst he was angered and emotional, Ferdy Sambo summoned Richard Eliezer Pudihang Lumiu, also known as Bharada E, and Ricky Rizal, known as Brigadier RR in police reports. Both have been named suspects by the National Police, according to Insp. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo, Head of the National Police Public Relations Division.
"To plan the murder of Brigadier J. Essentially something made the suspect emotional and angry," said Dedi.
Ferdy's confession adds a missing piece to the chronology of the murder.
According to prior police reports, the shooting took place at the official residence of Ferdy Sambo at the Police Complex in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. Additionally, prior reports stated that Ferdy ordered Bharada Eliezer to shoot Yosua.
"Timsus (the Special Team) found that the incident that occurred was the shooting of Brigadier J, which caused the death of Brigadier J, which was carried out by Mr. RE (Richard Eliezer) on the orders of Mr. FS (Ferdy Sambo)," said the National Police Chief as quoted by Tempo.co.
