JAKARTADAILY.ID – Bank Rakyat Indonesia, or BRI returns as the main sponsor for the highest soccer competition in Indonesia, Liga 1.
In terms of achievement, the Indonesian football team has ensured that they qualify for the 2022 Asian Cup. Meanwhile, in terms of business, Liga 1 has proven to be able to drive small and medium-sized businesses with a total value of Rp 3 trillion.
"Alhamdulillah, BRI will again become a sponsor for the 2022 Liga 1 season. Apart from being an effective promotional tool to reach the community, Liga 1 has also developed into an ecosystem that not only drives the world of football but also SMEs," said SOE Minister Erick Thohir in a statement published on the SOE Ministry website on Monday, July 25, 2022.

Erick also appreciated the performance of BRI, which continues to be a pillar of support for the development of SMEs. In Liga 1 alone, there are tens of thousands of SMEs that are able to live and thrive with the support of BRI.
"This is in line with BRI's mission as a financial institution that encourages the growth of SMEs. Behind Liga 1 itself, there are many SME derivatives that sell food, merchandise, and so on. The economic turnover of these SMEs reaches Rp 3 trillion," said Erick.
Erick also believes that the implementation of the Liga 1 competition will further encourage the advancement of national football achievements.
Football, as the people's sport, said Erick, should be the pride of the nation on the international stage. And from quality competition will be born a national team that excels at the international level.
"It is the hope of all Indonesian people to see our national team excel. Thank God with healthy competition we can see gradual improvements in achievement. Although there is still much that needs to be improved for the advancement of our football," said Erick.
