Nikita Mirzani Arrested by Banten Police Outside of Senayan City Mall in South Jakarta

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian model and celebrity Nikita Mirzani was arrested by Banten Police at the Senayan City shopping mall in South Jakarta on Thursday, July 21, 2022. 

The model, famous for her often scantily clad photoshoots was arrested because she had ignored summons made in June and earlier this month by the Banten Police according to a report from Detik.com.

Banten Police Head of Public Relations Senior Commissioner Shinto Silitonga stated that the arrest was led by the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Serang City Police AKP David Adhi Kusuma, who brought with him three policewomen.

"(The arrest) was carried out in a persuasive manner by first showing the identities of the investigators, and the warrant for the arrest of NM," explained Shinto in a statement published by PMJnews, the official news portal of the Polda Metro Jaya.

Shinto said that the Banten Police had also sent case files that Nikita Mirzani was charged with by the public prosecutor on Tuesday, July 12, 2022. Furthermore, investigators also gathered a number of items as evidence. 

"The confiscation of evidence in the form of an Apple brand Ipad from the residence of suspect NM in Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta on Thursday," Shinto said as quoted by Detik.com

He added that his party would be professional in the investigation of the Nikita Mirzani case. Nikita's rights as a suspect will also be fulfilled by investigators.
