The road constructed in 2020 is an alternative route from Cirebon to Kuningan that bypasses the Kuningan city center.
The construction of the Kuningan East Ring Road started from Garatengah Village, Japara District to Kedungarum Village, Kuningan District to reduce traffic congestion between Kuningan and Cirebon.

Head of the DKI Jakarta-West Java National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) of the PUPR Ministry, Wilan Oktavian, said the construction of the Kuningan East Ring Road used a state budget of Rp. 97.3 billion.
Of the total length of 7.24 km built by the Ministry of PUPR, there is a bridge construction of 50 meters.
"The presence of the Kuningan East Ring Road has the effect of breaking down congestion because in Kuningan the National Road section passes through the city center. So large vehicles and public transportation will no longer pass through the city and directly enter the access to the terminal. Other benefits can also open up other access for the community so that it can improve from an economic perspective," said Wilan Oktavian in a press statement posted on the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing's website, Monday, July 4, 2022.
Overall, the work on the Kuningan East Ring Road is progressing according to the plan for completion in December 2021. The scope of work includes the construction of roads according to national standards, the width of the road body is 7.5 meters and the shoulder of the road is 2 meters and the construction of a bridge is 50 meters long.
