Iko Uwais Under Official Investigation, Police Scheduled to Summon Iko on Saturday

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Bekasi City Metro Police is scheduled to summon Indonesian actor Iko Uwais on Saturday, June 25, 2022. This time Iko will be questioned as a reported witness.

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for Bekasi City Police, Commissioner Ivan Adhitira, said the summons was made after investigators raised the case status of the case to the investigation stage.

"We will summon the reported party again as a witness to link them in the investigation report because that is the mechanism," explained Ivan Adhitira, quoted by the official news site of the Polda Metro Jaya Police at pmjnews.com on June 23, 2022.

Apart from Iko, investigators also summoned Firmansah who was suspected of having participated in the beating of the victim, an interior designer, RD. However, it has not been confirmed whether the two reported parties will attend.

"We schedule the summons for next Saturday," he said.

According to Ivan, at the investigation level, the police will immediately determine the suspect in the case. It is also waiting for the evidence collected by investigators.

"There is definitely a suspect in the future," he said.

Bekasi City Metro Police raised the status of the alleged beating case involving Iko Uwais to the investigation stage. The increase in the status of this case is based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.

"We have upgraded the status of the case of persecution or beating on behalf of the RD reporter to in investigation," said Ivan Adhitira on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

Ivan added that the increase in the status of the case was carried out after the police found criminal elements contained in Article 170 of the Criminal Code in the investigation process. However, investigators have not yet identified a suspect.
