Metro Jaya Police Arrested 2 Top Members of the Khilafatul Muslimin in Medan and Bekasi

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Metro Jaya Police arrested two more members of the Khilafatul Muslimin who have a central role. They were arrested in Medan, North Sumatra, and Bekasi City, West Java.

Metro Jaya Police spokesperson, Senior Commissioner Endra Zulpan said that the two members arrested were the top leaders of the organization that carried the caliphate ideology.

Both of them, continued Zulfan, were arrested on Saturday night, June 11, 2022, in Medan and Bekasi separately.

Both have now been named as suspects by the investigator of the General Crime Directorate of Metro Jaya Police or Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya.

"It's true last night that investigators from the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya again arrested two suspects in Medan and Bekasi," Endra Zulpan on Sunday, June 12, 2022.

"Both of them are alleged to be high-ranking officials of the Khilafatul Muslimin mass organization who play a central role in the movement and spread of the organization's ideology," he continued.

It is known, so far the Metro Jaya Police have arrested five suspects from the Khilafatul Muslimin case with the initials AQHB, AA, IN, FA, and SU. The five of them have now been detained by investigators.

"A total of five suspects have been arrested and detained by investigators from the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya," he said.

As previously reported, the National Police are still conducting intensive investigations into the movement of the Khilafatul Muslimin group. The police have named five suspects from the viral action of the Khilafatul Muslimin group convoy.

"There are five suspects in total. First from the Central Java Police, three suspects, then from the Metro Jaya Police, one suspect from the East Java Police last night," explained the spoke person of the National Police, Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo, in his statement Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Dedi explained that his party would also continue to monitor the activities of the Khilafatul Muslimin group. According to him, the action of the Khilafatul Muslimin convoy has caused a commotion in the community.

"The action he took was a momentum. As long as he doesn't take action to make a fuss, of course, he's still being monitored," said Dedi.
