JAKARTADAILY.ID - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) has disclosed data on vehicles for travelers leaving Jabodetabek ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 H.
During the Eid al-Fitr holiday this year, there were 105,516 vehicles leaving Jabodetabek to return to their respective hometowns.
Jasa Marga said this density was the latest record regarding the homecoming flow that occurred in Indonesia.
In fact, Jasa Marga mentioned this year's homecoming situation as breaking the record set before the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019.
"This figure broke the previous record, during the Idul Fitri 1441 H/2019 homecoming period," said PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Corporate Communication Development Group Head, Dwimawan Heru in a statement received by Pikiran-Rakyat.com on Sunday, May 1, 2022.
Jasa Marga also recorded the highest record of serving traffic volume during homecoming, which was 103,077 vehicles leaving Jabodetabek. The vehicles are heading east via the Trans Java Toll Road which passes through the Cikampek Utama GT.
Heru also stated that PT Jasa Marga must carry out various policies to accommodate the travelers. This includes operating a 30-lane transaction toll road to make toll road payments easier.
"We are maximizing the capacity of the toll gates to serve the increasing traffic volume at GT Cikampek Utama, which operates a total of 30 transaction lanes and adds 4 mobile readers in tandem," said Heru.
Jasa Marga also expressed its gratitude for the cooperation of various parties to realize and secure the homecoming this year. One of them is the collaboration with the Police, the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) and others.
