JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi commented after Director-General of Foreign Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana was named a suspect in a corruption case related to the export of cooking oil.
The Attorney General's Office (AGO) has named Indrasari as a suspect in the case of unlawful granting of crude palm oil export facilities.
Trade Minister Muhammad Lutfi has addressed the case and said that the Ministry of Trade supports the legal process carried out by the AGO.
"The Ministry of Trade supports the legal process that is currently underway. The Ministry of Trade is also ready to always provide the information needed in the law enforcement process," said Lutfi in a written statement on Tuesday, April 19, 2022.
Lutfi emphasized that he had told his staff at the Ministry of Trade to ensure that licensing services are carried out transparently and in accordance with applicable regulations.
"I have instructed the Ministry of Trade's staff of all ranks to assist the ongoing law enforcement process since the acts of corruption and abuse of authority would cause state losses and impact the national economy and harm the community," he said.
There are four suspects named by the Attorney General's Office related to cooking oil corruption, namely Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana, an official of the Ministry of Trade, and three others from the private sector.
"There are four suspects. First, an Echelon 1 official in the Ministry of Trade [with initials] IWW, [he is] the Director-General of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Trade," Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin told reporters on Monday, April 19, 2022, as quoted by Antara.
The three other suspects named by the AGO are Permata Hijau Group's Senior Manager of the Corporate Affairs, Stanley M. A., the Commissioner of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia Master Parulian Tumanggor, and PT Musim Mas's General Manager of the General Affairs Picare Togar Sitanggang.
The three suspects from the private sector are said to have communicated intensely with Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana.
