Formula E Circuit Paving Now Complete, Other Work Continues

JAKARTADAILY.ID - The construction of the Formula E track has been completed, and work on the paddock and stands will soon be started.

Formula E Jakarta organizing committee's VP of Communications Iman Sjafei said work is also currently focused on finishing and smoothing the track.

"It's finished, if [you were to ask whether the track] is ready to be used, [the answer would be] it's ready to be used," he said when contacted Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

He said that overall construction is still currently ongoing. Contractors are also building several circuit equipment such as fences, stands, and connecting bridges.

Even so, Iman could not say in certain terms when the Jakarta Formula E circuit would be entirely completed.

He said, after the track construction process was completed, the Formula E Operations would conduct a pretest. But again, he couldn't tell when the pretest would take place.

"I can't confirm when [the pretest will be]. The only thing I know is that since yesterday, our focus had been on [working] the track," he said.

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria previously said that the construction of the Formula E circuit would be completed before April 28, 2022.

"Insha Allah [God willing], it will be finished before April 28, 2022," he said.

He said the construction of the stands for the Jakarta Formula E spectators, which may accommodate up to 10,000 people, would be built after Eid 2022.

"So, the audience capacity is prepared for 50,000. Then 10,000 in the stands. After Eid, the new stands will be built," he said.
