Bali Police Seize Rp 56 Billion in Drugs in Latest Sting

JAKARTADAILY.ID - The Bali Regional Police has successfully seized tens of kilograms of various types of drugs estimated to be worth Rp 56 billion in a recent bust.

Bali Police Chief Inspector General Putu Jayan Danu Putera said that the drug bust was the largest in the last two years in the province.

"This drug evidence has an estimated value of Rp 56 billion. If it is used by irresponsible people, it is possible that as many as 350,000 people can use it. At least we can save 350,000 people," said Putu at the Bali Police Headquarters on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.

Currently, the Bali Police have arrested three suspected drug dealers. The first perpetrator with the initials KS (35) is from Batukaang Village, Bangli Regency.

While the second, KW (48), is from Denpasar. And the third, AA (48) is from Badung Regency.

The Police explained that the three suspects had their respective roles. KS and KW play a role in breaking down, preparing, and inserting powdered ecstasy into pink capsules.

The two of them also distributed and sold the drugs to foreigners or tourists on vacation in Bali.

Meanwhile, AA's role is to provide narcotic materials, prepare storage areas, and receive the proceeds from the trading of narcotics from two other suspects.

Putu said the bust was conducted in a villa in the Taman Mertasari neighborhood of Kelod Village, North Kuta District, Badung Regency, Bali.

"The suspect's modus operandi was to store drugs in the villa and then distribute it to foreigners who often visit entertainment venues in the Seminyak, Canggu, and Petitenget areas," he said, as quoted by PMJ News.

Reportedly, the evidence seized from the bust consisted of 35,166.00 grams of methamphetamine, 32.00 grams of cocaine, 2,669.40 grams of marijuana, and 7.38 grams of MDMA.

Furthermore, there were also 796 MDMA capsules weighing 151.24 grams, red MDMA powder weighing 49.14 grams, and orange MDMA powder weighing 1,280,6 grams.

In addition, there were also psychotropic narcotics weighing 0.50 grams, 500 80-gram Prohepel HCL tablets, 500 70-gram Valdimex tablets, 500 55-gram Xanax/Alprazolam tablets, as well as Rp 9 million in cash belonging to AA.
