JAKARTADAILY.ID – Ahead of the 2022 Eid homecoming, Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono is promoting the Java South Coast Cross (Pansela) as an alternative route for mass travel known locally as 'mudik' this year apart from the North Coast Cross (Pantura) and Central Java Island.
Minister Basuki stated that the Pansela Cross that was built had already penetrated from Bayah, Lebak Regency, Banten Province through Kebumen, Cilacap, Wonosari to Pacitan, East Java Province. In total, 1,242 km have been connected.
"The Pansela Road was built with funding from the state budget (APBN), Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) starting 6 years ago, we will build it in stages. Later in 2024 we will continue until it is connected to Banyuwangi, East Java," said Minister Basuki Basuki while reviewing the Pansela Cross Road in Wonogiri, Saturday, April 9, 2022.
With the existence of three homecoming routes on the island of Java, Minister Basuki hopes that the burden will be divided during the homecoming period.
"For that I invite the public to take advantage of Jalan Pansela, a road with beautiful views that passes through many beach tourist locations. The scenery is beautiful and instagrammable, for those who pass this route, For those who pass this route, hopefully the Eid holiday will be memorable with family," he said.

The Pansela road stretches across 5 provinces on the island of Java, namely Banten Province with the Labuhan – Boundary of West Java Province along 169.5 km; then in West Java Province with a section from the Banten Province-Sindang Barang Boundary to the Central Java Province Boundary along 417.1 km.
Then the Pansela Cross Road in Central Java Province with sections starting from the West Java Provincial Boundary-Congot-Duwet to Glonggong along 212.5 km. Furthermore, in the DI Yogyakarta Province with the Karang Nongko-Legundi to Duwet section along 120.8 km. Finally, the sections in East Java Province with the Panggul – Sendangbiru – Jarit – Puger to Glenmore sections along 627.6 km.
Handling the Trans Pansela Jawa is carried out through the construction of new roads, road preservation or maintenance activities, rehabilitation, reconstruction of roads and bridges and widening of roads to standards, which are sustainable to maintain roads in a stable condition.
