JAKARTADAILY.ID – The National Police's Counterterrorism Special Detachment (Densus) 88 arrested five terrorist suspects in South Tangerang.
The arrests of the five terrorist suspects from the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) network were carried out on Sunday, April 3, 2022.
Head of the Operational Assistance Section of Densus 88 Police Grand Commissioner Aswin Siregar said the five suspects with the initials SA, SO, TA, MH and AHA, had different roles in committing acts of terrorism.
"For SA, he was involved in the NII group meeting in Depok, the NII account holder based on information from AY and the NII Padang treasurer who had received Rp119 million, and organized a “raihlah” or change of structure," said Aswin in his statement, Friday, April 8, 2022, quoted from PMJ News.
The second suspect with the initials SO said Aswin served as the head of the South Tangerang NII group.
He was also present at the meeting in Depok and has a relationship with another suspect, Zefrizal. SO in 2019 held a meeting with 250 NII members in West Sumatra.
The third suspect with the initials TA was said to be involved and went directly to West Sumatra when holding a meeting with six NII representatives from Tangerang City to open an NII pilot area.
"He also gave directions and instructions to RS to prepare a blacksmiths to make sharp weapons," said Aswin.

Then, Aswin said that the fourth terrorist suspect with the initials MH was acting as the secretary of the NII in the South Tangerang area.
He also attended the meeting in Depok, and sent materials from the NII center regarding directives via e-mail. In addition, Aswin said that MH is also the IT team of NII.
According to Aswin, the last suspect with the initials AHA alias Y acted as secretary and was promoted to Chairman of the NII in the Tangerang City area.
He also played the role of suspect TA who went directly to West Sumatra with representatives from Tangerang City with a total of 6 people to open pilot areas.
"Currently, investigators are still conducting further investigations against the five terrorist suspects and the NII network," said Aswin.
