Minister of Manpower: Companies Are Required to Pay THR in Cash, No Installments

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziyah, emphasized that this year's holiday allowance (THR) was returned to its original rule, which is 1 month's salary for those who have worked for at least 1 year. The Minister of Manpower also asked that the THR payment should not be in installments, it had to be in cash.

"THR is a worker's right and an employer's obligation. This year, because the economic situation is getting better, we return the THR amount to the original rule, which is 1 month's salary for those who have worked for at least 12 months. proportional. Without installments, aka cash," said the Minister of Manpower to reporters in Jakarta, Friday, April 8, 2022.

Minister Ida said that the rules regarding THR were contained in the Circular Letter (SE) of the Minister of Manpower Number M/1/HK.04/IV/2022 dated April 6, 2022 regarding the Implementation of the Granting of Religious THR in 2022 for workers/laborers in companies. Minister Ida  emphasized that THR is not only the right of workers with permanent status.

"Contract workers, outsourcing, temporary workers, casual daily laborers in plantations, drivers and even domestic workers aka PRT are entitled to THR. So don't narrow the scope of the recipients," explained Ida Fauziah.

The Ministry also officially launched the 2022 THR Command Post (Posko). This THR Posko will handle complaints and consultations, both from workers and employers. Minister Ida asked each party to take advantage of this post.

"Anyway, if you just want to ask questions about THR, we are ready to serve," she said.

Minister Ida specifically asked companies with positive growth and good profits to provide THR of more than 1 month's salary to their workers.

"For companies that can afford it, please share more. Give more than a month's salary. Even if it's not in the form of money, at least it's in the form of basic necessities. So that working families can break their fast and celebrate Eid with better dishes," said Minister Ida Fauziah.

"Let's work together with the government to increase the purchasing power of workers. There is nothing to lose. The wages of generous entrepreneurs, God willing, will be greatly rewarded in the hereafter. The business will also be a blessing because the workers continue to pray for it," she concluded.
