JAKARTADAILY.ID - The National Police Traffic Corps surveyed the location of November's G20 Bali summit.
For the first time in history, Indonesia holds the presidency of the G20, known to be a forum of cooperation between countries.
Polri's Head of the Traffic Corps Inspector General Police Firman Shantyabudi said his team has carried out a survey to ensure traffic safety at the international level event.
He was accompanied by the Director of Jasa Raharja Rivan A Purwantono and the Director of Law Enforcement of the Traffic Corps Brigadier General Police Aan Suhanan.
In addition, there were also the Traffic Corps Head of Operations Grand Commissioner Eddy Djunaedi, the Head of Sub-Directorate for the Operations Management and Engineering Grand Commissioner Indra Jafar, and Jasa Raharja's Operational Director Dewi Aryani Suzana.
Firman and the team have visited the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation, Bali Nusa Dua Convention Cente, and the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana.
"We are now conducting a direct inspection with the Operations Division at GWK, which is planned to be used later [for the location] for one of the series of G20 Presidency [of Indonesia]," said Firman on Thursday, March 31, 2022.
The survey of the location of the G20 summit includes checking for exit and entry routes, road infrastructure, parking locations, and drop-off points.
Firman said that things that might or have the potential to hinder the event will soon be addressed ahead of the G20 Summit.
The Traffic Corps will work across sectors to optimize the activities of the G20 Summit by deploying all tools and applications, one of which is Electronic Ticketing.
"What is certain is that all existing applications are owned by the regional government, police, and various institutions, and it will be synergized to ensure monitoring of activities on the road and so on," Firman noted.
Firman said he would fully monitor the activity and hoped that the G20 Summit would become a safe and comfortable Indonesian tourism promotion event for foreign tourists.
Indonesia was chosen to host the G20 Summit and is expected to provide good service to show that Indonesia is capable of carrying out international activities.
"So it is not solely to successfully hold the summit, but also to take on the opportunity to present Indonesia in a better light tourism-wise," said Firman. as quoted from the Traffic Corps.
