A Friend of Doni Salmanan Reveals The Investment Fraud Modus Operandi

JAKARTADAILY.ID - Doni Salmanan remains to be detained by the police after being named a suspect on several allegations related to fraud, spreading false news, and money laundering.

Salmanan, who is known as Bandung's Crazy Rich, was named a suspect on March 8, 2022, related to a fraudulent investment case trading binary options through the Quotex application.

For his actions, Doni Salmanan has been detained at the Police's Investigation Unit in South Jakarta for the next 20 days.

Doni Salmanan was charged with multiple articles, namely Article 45 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 1 of the Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE) Law which carries a penalty of 6 years in prison.

Then Article 378 of the Criminal Code carries a threat of 4 years and Article 3 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the prevention and eradication of the crime of money laundering with a threat of 20 years in prison.

Amid the ongoing legal process, a person claiming to be a friend of Doni Salmanan has given testimony regarding Salmanan's fraudulent activity. A man named Randu Sekti Wibowo claims to have known Salmanan as the two were members of the same automotive club.

Randu exposed in detail how Doni Salmanan's method of deception managed to attract other people who eventually went bankrupt. He said that the public who judged Doni Salmanan to be good did not recognize the man's true nature.

Randu claims that some of his acquaintances had to sell their houses, cars and even got their families fell apart due to the losses.

"They were enraged, for sure. I have once warned them, but those who were deceived won't completely listen," said Randu.

"It's strange that the kids can immediately trust new people. Doni is a new person in the community," he added

According to him, Salmanan always encouraged his friends to keep the Quotex trading going even when they continued to lose tens to hundreds of millions of Rupiah.

"They insisted because Doni claimed that he experienced lost to billions at the beginning and later he started to gain huge profit," Randu said.

"Once they lose, they [went bankrupt] immediately. Some even had to sell their cars, and their houses [to pay for the expense]," said Randu.

According to Randu, what Doni Salmanan offered seemed to provide an instant solution amid economic hardships. "Doni with his sweet talk invites the others to get into trading," said Randu.
