Police Claim Suspected Terrorist in Sukoharjo To Be Involved in a Jemaah Islamiyah-Affiliated Organization

JAKARTADAILY.ID - A suspected terrorist, SU, who has been shot dead by the Special Anti-Terror Detachment Unit 88 (Densus 88), had reportedly been actively involved in an organization called the Hilal Ahmar Society Indonesia (HASI).

The Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karo Penmas) of the National Police Public Relations Division Brig. Gen. Pol. Ahmad Ramadhan revealed the information at a press conference in Jakarta, on March 10, 2022.

HASI was included in the list of terrorist organizations in Indonesia, based on the provision of the Central Jakarta District Court's Chief, Number 3801/Pen.Pid/2015/PN.Jkt.Pst, which was signed by the then National Police Chief, General Badrodin Haiti.

Densus 88 arrested SU on Jalan Bekonang, Sukoharjo, Central Java, Wednesday, March 9, 2022. The counterterrorist team decided to open fires at SU for he was fighting aggressively towards the officers.

Ramadhan said that SU was allegedly a member of the Jemaah Islamiyah (JI) terrorist network, where he once served as the solemn emir, and the deputy for da'wah and information.
