JAKARTADAILY.ID - President Joko Widodo expects the upcoming MotoGP 1,000 CC motorcycle race to sell as many as 63,000-100,000 tickets. The race itself will be held on March 18-19, 2022, at the Mandalika Circuit Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
An integrated promotion program is needed to achieve this target. Consequently, ticket sales will be accompanied by improvements to tourism residential facilities around the Mandalika Circuit, said Mandalika MotoGP Field Commander 2022, Hadi Tjahjanto.
Hadi said his team is still preparing the auxiliary facilities and infrastructure to support the race at Mandalika 2022 MotoGP Circuit. The works include widening provincial roads in the northern area of the Mandalika Circuit area, constructing parking locations in the east and western area, fixing the facilities and infrastructure in the circuit proper, as well as creating a shuttle bus line in the south area — in accordance with the president's instructions.
"We will expand the provincial roads, and we now have begun to see the construction. We hope later by the first week of March 2022, [the road] has been expanded into four lanes," Hadi said.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said his team and relevant stakeholders are planning to launch the ticket sales of MotoGP Mandalika 2022 soon.
"We have to launch the ticket sales in the next three weeks to reach the target, per the direction from the president," said Sandiaga.
Sandiaga encourages everyone to support the success of MotoGP to boost the economic recovery in the region as well as new job opportunities.
