Covid-19 Cases 'Haunts' The Club Participants, Yet No Plan To Stop BRI Liga 1

JAKARTADAILY.ID - Several club players from BRI Liga 1 were hit by a storm of Covid-19.

According to the data from Liga 1's Task Force Doctor, Alfan Nur Asyhar on February 1, 2022, there are 52 players from 12 teams with positive results.

Aside from the 52 players infected by Corona, he stated, as many as 16 team officials BRI Liga 1 were also reported positive for Covid-19.

Covid-19 case 'haunts' club participants of BRI Liga 1. Impacted by Covid-19 storm, two league big matches, one match from Madura United vs Persipura, which was scheduled for 1 February 2022, as well as a second match from Makassar vs Persib, which was originally scheduled for 2 February 2022, was postponed.

Although the Covid-19 case is haunting, PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the competition organizer, has not planned to stop the match of the most prestigious football games in Indonesia.

Director of PT Liga Baru Indonesia (LIB), Sudjarno, until recently, is still discussing the match one by one. "There is still no plan to stop the fourth game series and move to Bali," he said on 2 February 2022.

He stated that his party still plans to finish all games, including the fourth series as well as the fifth according to plan, which is to be held in Island of Gods.

Nevertheless, he said, his party is still open for suggestions from various parties regarding the Covid-19 case that haunts several of the BRI Liga 1 participants.

"We do receive many inputs and suggestions from various parties which could be considered while the tournament is conducted," he said, as reported by Antara.

Previously, Liga 1 Covid-19 Task Force doctor stated that dozens of players and team officials positive for covid were asymptomatic.

He assessed, there is a difference between the healing time. According to him, athletes healing time from Coronavirus usually takes three to five days.

In addition, he also stated that the task force will keep on monitoring BRI Liga 1 participants who were declared positive for Corona.

He explained, isolation places for players and team officials infected by Corona, quarantine places are provided around Ubud and Kuta areas.
