JAKARTADAILY.ID - Sinar Mas Land through the Sinar Mas Land Muslim Foundation (YMSML) planted fruit trees in collaboration with the Institute for Disaster Management and Climate Change (LPBI) for the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Manager in South Tangerang at the Al-Tsaniyah Islamic Boarding School, Serpong at the end of last November.
This activity is in commemoration of the National Tree Planting Day which takes place every November 28. Sinar Mas Land distributed 1,000 fruit tree seedlings to communities around the BSD City area, 600 of which were handed over and planted by YMSML to the Al-Tsaniyah Islamic Boarding School, Serpong consisting of Jamaican guava fruit trees, longan, rambutan, and mango trees.

The Board of Trustees of the Sinar Mas Land Muslim Foundation who also serves as Managing Director of Sinar Mas Land's President Office - Dhony Rahajoe explained, "Planting trees is very beneficial for environmental sustainability and beauty. In religion, we are also taught to plant trees. These trees in addition to producing oxygen and absorbing carbon will also produce fruits that can be eaten by creatures in need.”
On the same occasion, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Sinar Mas Land Muslim Foundation - Saleh Husin added, "Hopefully this sincere intention to plant fruit trees will bring benefits to us and the surrounding community so that it will also bring abundant rewards for all parties involved in this activity."
YMSML is an activity forum for Muslim employees to share goodness who routinely carries out a number of religious activities. These activities are implemented into a series of programs to build ukhuwah including Al-Qur'an Waqf for the Country to a number of mosques, Eradication of Al-Qur'an Blindness (BBQ) through the Mama Papa method, handing over hundreds of sacrificial animals on Eid al-Adha, renovation of mosques in the BSD City area, vaccine centers for the elderly and mosque activists. In addition, YMSML also distributed basic materials to masks and vitamins for mosque takmir, free medical and dental check-ups for the general public, mosque administration training, and a free cooking oil bazaar.
