FIFGROUP Plants Mangrove Seedlings to Support Sustainability Program in Bali

JAKARTADAILY.ID - PT Federal International Finance (FIFGROUP) plants 340 mangrove tree seedlings in the Ngurah Rai Grand Forest Park, Benoa, Denpasar, Bali on Monday, August 28, 2023. Previously, FIFIGROUP also planted 234 seedlings in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) Mangrove Ecotourism Area last June.

FIFGROUP's Human Capital (HC), General Support (GS), Corporate Communication, Environment Health Safety, Social Responsibility (EHSSR) & Sustainability Director, Esther Sri Harjati, said that this activity is FIFGROUP's commitment to continue to strive to be present in maintaining the sustainability of the surrounding environment and reducing the impact of climate change through mangrove tree planting activities.

"FIFGROUP is committed to maintaining the sustainability of the surrounding environment and playing a role in reducing the impact of climate change. Through today's mangrove tree planting action, we want to make a positive contribution to the environment and the surrounding community, and create a sustainable environment for future generations," said Esther.

She explained that the action of planting 340 mangrove tree seedlings was the second time after 234 seedlings were planted in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) Mangrove Ecotourism Area last June. In addition, this program is also part of a series of events to celebrate FIFGROUP's 34th Anniversary.

In the framework of the celebration, FIFGROUP through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) channeled the Sharia Social Fund which was implemented through the planting of 34,000 trees in stages throughout 2023.

"Thus, since the beginning of 2023 until this July, FIFGROUP has successfully planted 11,340 tree seedlings," said Ester.

Ester added this activity is a form of FIFGROUP's support in providing a positive impact on society and the community through 3 aspects of the Sustainability Strategy, namely Portfolio, People, and Public Contribution.

Ester revealed the mangrove planting activity that FIFGROUP carried out this year is also in line with two points of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely not only point 13 regarding Handling and Climate Change but also in line with point 14 which focuses on Underwater Life.

"In this case, FIFGROUP takes a role, one of which is with the Create Action, Rescue Earth (CARE) movement as a form of real action of the company's concern for climate change for a sustainable environmental balance, and also a form of FIFGROUP's commitment to the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) Goals, namely Community Relations," Esther concluded.
