JAKARTADAILY.ID – President Joko Widodo has emphasized the importance of respecting the legal process following the recent determination of Minister of Communication and Informatics (Menkominfo) Johnny G. Plate as a suspect.
Speaking before the media at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base today, President Jokowi urged all parties to uphold the principles of justice.
"Yes, we have to respect the existing legal process," stated President Jokowi, firmly addressing the matter. He expressed his confidence in the professionalism of the Attorney General's Office, which is responsible for handling the case against Minister Plate.

The President lauded the Attorney General's Office for its transparency and dedication in handling the legal proceedings.

Regarding Minister Plate's position as the Minister of Communication and Informatics, President Jokowi announced that he had appointed the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law, and Security (Menko Polhukam), Mahfud Md, as the acting minister. This decision ensures the continuity of government operations while the legal process unfolds.
"The acting minister is the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs," President Jokowi informed the gathered reporters, confirming the appointment.
On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, the Attorney General's Office announced Minister Johnny G. Plate as a suspect in the BAKTI BTS corruption case spanning from 2020 to 2022.
