JAKARTADAILY.ID – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has extended his well-wishes to all Christians in Indonesia in celebration of Good Friday.
"To my Christian brothers and sisters. Congratulations on celebrating Great Friday 2023," Jokowi wrote on his Instagram account page @jokowi, Friday, April 7, 2023.
The Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) had previously invited Christians to welcome Easter with joy, maintaining harmony, cooperation, and internal peace, as well as between religious communities.
"Representing the government, we invite Christians to reflect on the love and work of salvation, the redemption of Jesus Christ for our sins. Be a person who always radiates love and peace to everyone," said the Director General of Christian Community Guidance, Jeane Marie Tulung, as quoted from the Kemenag.go.id website on Thursday, April 6, 2023.
Good Friday is considered a holy day for Christians, and the Indonesian government has declared April 7, 2023, as a national holiday.
