JAKARTADAILY.ID - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono said that the Jakarta Provincial Government continues to improve services in an effort to make Jakarta a center for medical tourism.
According to Heru, the thing to be grateful for is that the ratio of specialist doctors in Jakarta has met WHO standards. Therefore, what needs to be pursued together is to improve the quality of health services in Jakarta in accordance with international standards.
"The city of Jakarta is transforming, from the State Capital to the Global City and Indonesia's Economic Center, as well as preparing to become a Medical Tourism center. Health services must be able to increase the trust of Jakartans who seek treatment abroad," said Governor Heru when opening the 2023 Jakarta Internal Medicine in Daily Practice (JIM DACE) Scientific Seminar at JW Marriot Hotel, South Jakarta, Saturday, September 16, 2023.

In the seminar with the theme "Reinforcing Reliable and Competent Internist in Daily Practice", Heru said that the COVID-19 pandemic still has an impact on health services in Indonesia, so infectious diseases cannot be overcome properly and cases of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) tend to increase every year.
"Internal Medicine Specialists can play a major role in reducing NCD cases due to their wide range of diagnoses. For this reason, doctors are expected to continue to follow the development of medical science and technology and continue to update the diagnostic approach to the symptoms experienced by patients," he explained.

"Congratulations on attending the seminar, hopefully, it can improve the knowledge, competitiveness, and productivity of Internal Medicine Specialists for the realization of international standard health services in the city of Jakarta," he concluded. (***)
