Joe Biden Arrives in Bali for G20 Summit, Welcomed by Indonesian Ministry of Tourism Sandiaga Uno

JAKARTADAILY.ID – United States President Joe Biden arrived in Bali on Sunday, November 13, 2022 evening at around 21.45 WITA at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, to attend the G20 Summit.

Biden's arrival was greeted by the Indoensian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.

"I have the honor and duty of the state to welcome President Joe Biden, who landed in Bali tonight at around 21.45 WITA using the Air Force One," said Sandiaga on Sunday.

"On behalf of the government, nation and people of Indonesia we express our wish for more visits and cooperation in the tourism and creative economy sectors," said Sandiaga.

Sandiaga also said that tourist arrivals from the United States had recently increased.

He also expressed his hope in front of Biden that Indonesia's creative economy products would be increasingly in demand, especially fashion, culinary and handicraft products.

Sandiaga said that while walking and being greeted by a Balinese dance, President Biden expressed his admiration for the dance.

Apart from Biden, a number of other state guests including heads of world institutions also began arriving at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport from 18.25 Central Indonesian Time.

They including, including the Chairman of the World Economic Forum Prof. Klaus Martin Schwab, President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Dr. Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser, Director General of the International Labor Organization Gilbert F. Houngbo, Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, and Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov.

Director General of Public Information and Communication of Minsitry of Communication and Information, Usman Kansong said the arrival of delegates would continue until Monday November 14, 2022.

From monitoring at several locations where the G20 Summit series were held, security forces joined from elements of the TNI and Polri continued to carry out tight security in welcoming state guests.

"We are ready to welcome. The same goes for security and control. Indonesia seeks to be a good host for all state guests attending the G20 Summit," said Usman.
