JAKARTADAILY.ID – President of Indonesia Joko "Jokowi" Widodo expressed his condolences for the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The longest-serving monarch in British history has died at the age of 96.

Queen Elizabeth II passed away yesterday after serving the United Kingdom and Commonwealth as Sovereign for 70 years.

The British monarch and Head of State was placed under medical supervision starting September 8, Buckingham Palace confirmed.

The queen reportedly looked “frail” after meeting with incoming British Prime Minister Liz Truss on September 5. Truss took to Twitter to share her concern over the queen's health following their meeting.

“I am deeply saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, a widely admired and beloved queen.

My deepest sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family, the government, and the people of the UK,” said President of Indonesia Joko Widodo on his Instagram and Twitter accounts.

In addition to the President of Indonesia Joko Widodo, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the UK, Desra Percaya expressed his deep condolences for the death of Queen Elizabeth II through his Instagram account.
