The Search for Ridwan Kamil's Son Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz Continues, Bern Police Involves Aare River Community

JAKARTADAILY.ID - The search for Ridwan Kamil's son, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz, or Eril, is still ongoing along the Aare River in Switzerland.

According to Ridwan Kamil's older brother, Erwin Muniruzaman, Eril's search this time involved the environmental community along the Aare River.

"The Bern Police Chief said that they had informed and communicated with the communities in the Aare River, including rowing clubs, gardening communities, and so on," Erwin said as quoted by Antaranews.com on Thursday, June 2, 2022.

Based on information received by the family, the Indonesian Embassy in Bern said that the police in Switzerland ensured that the communities along the banks of the Aare River pay high attention to the search for Eril.

As a family member, Erwin hopes that the community's involvement can help officers, especially in providing any latest updates about the situation along the Aare river.

The community, he said may help spot some potential locations regarding where Eril might have been swept.

Until today, there is no confirmed news about whether Eril might have died or survived after he was reportedly swept away by the current while swimming in the Aare River, Bern, Switzerland on Thursday, May 26, 2022.

Previous news reports said he was swimming with his family and friends, but failed to be saved when the heavy current hit his swimming location.

The community's involvement is expected to help convey any information as quickly as possible to the police.

"So, it is hoped that if there were any information or findings it could quickly reach the authorities," said Erwin.

The Bern Police Chief had conveyed all information regarding to the results of Eril's search to his father Ridwan Kamil, who is staying at one of the boat houses around the location.

"The Bern Police Chief has informed the search results directly to Kang Emil at one of the boat houses around the location. So on May 31, the search process has not yet obtained the results we hoped for," said Erwin.

The Bern police have decided that based on the results of the evaluation, they will continue the search for Eril using the same method.
