JAKARTADAILY.ID – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) led five series of meetings on the first day of the 42nd ASEAN Summit 2023, which took place on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at the Meruorah Hotel, Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT).
According to the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Teuku Faizasyah, the meetings included the Opening and Plenary Session of the 42nd ASEAN Summit, as well as the ASEAN Leaders Interface Meeting with ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Representatives, ASEAN Youth Representatives, ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC), and the High-Level Task Force on ASEAN Community's Post-2025 Vision (HLTF-ACV).
President Jokowi closed the five series of ASEAN Summit meetings directly at night, coinciding with the Welcoming Dinner activity at Ayana Komodo Waecicu Beach.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Retno Marsudi, announced during a Press Briefing on Tuesday that the entire agenda of the Summit would be closed with a dinner.
Tomorrow, on Thursday, May 11, 2023, President Jokowi will be chairing the Retreat Session and the Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Growth Triangle (IMT-GT) Summit.
Meanwhile, the Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) meeting will be chaired by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim since Malaysia currently holds the chairmanship of BIMP-EAGA.
Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi stated, "On May 11, there will be three meetings, of the three meetings, two meetings will be chaired by the President."
