JAKARTADAILY.ID – Carlos Tatay, a racer from the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team, secured his second podium finish in the Race 1 Moto2 European Estoril held in Portugal on Sunday, May 7, 2023.

Tatay managed to beat Australian racer Harrison Voight to clinch the second position, with Senna Agius winning the race with a time of 18:24.712.

Tatay's victory in Race 1 was a proud moment for the team, and he celebrated it by bringing the Indonesian flag to the podium to show his appreciation for his team, Pertamina Mandalika SAG Team.

In a post-race Instagram post, Carlos thanked his team members for their support and dedication.

"Thank you for helping me every time and making me enjoy my passion in a way I haven't done in a long time," he wrote. Carlos also added that this was just the first step for them, and the team was ready to achieve other maximum results. "This is just the beginning. Continue! See you in Valencia!" he insisted.

Following his second-place finish, Tatay earned 20 points, placing him in seventh place in the Moto2 European Championship standings. PT Pertamina (Persero) VP Corporate Communication Fadjar Djoko Santoso expressed pride and optimism, saying, "We feel proud and optimistic that the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team can make maximum achievements in the 2023 season."

The team has been performing well in recent months. In April 2023, Bo Bendsneyder, another racer from the Pertamina Mandalika SAG Racing Team, secured the third position at the 2023 American Moto2 Grand Prix.

With Tatay's latest podium finish, the team's spirits are high, and they are determined to keep up the momentum in the upcoming races.
