JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno invited tourists to return to the Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara to watch the World Superbike (WSBK) Indonesian Round 2023.
Sandi said that the WSBK racing event is expected to have a broad impact on the economic revival and job creation, especially in the Mandalika Super Priority Tourism Destination.
"We invited the public to always welcome the organization of the 2023 World Superbike which is planned to take place on March 3 to 5, 2023 at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara," said Sandiaga Uno at the WSBK 2023 launch event on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at the Hard Rock Cafe, Jakarta.
In organizing the 2022 season, the number of spectators watching live at the Mandalika Circuit broke the highest record in the history of organizing World Superbike in various countries. Namely reaching 51,629 spectators, which has a very significant impact on the tourism sector and the creative economy in West Nusa Tenggara.
Meanwhile, Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Operations Director Troy Reza Warokka said the 2022 WSBK race which was successfully held at the Mandalika Circuit last November has proven that Indonesia is capable of hosting international events.
"The number of spectators who touched more than 50,000 people at the 2022 WSBK shows the public's enthusiasm for this world event and trust in the safety, comfort, and facilities, and infrastructure around Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit. Therefore ITDC and MGPA are ready to return to organize the WSBK for the third time on 3-5 March 2023 and are ready to show Indonesia's ability to host a world-class WSBK event, this time in opening a new season," said Troy.
The launch of WSBK 2023 was also marked by the start of ticket sales to watch WSBK 2023.
"Early bird 75 percent discount sales apply to all ticket categories, for people who want to watch WSBK events can buy tickets online through the Xplorin application, Loket.com, Tiket.com, and MyTours before they run out," said MGPA President Director Priandhi Satria.
