JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Uno is optimistic that the synergy of the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) and Proud to Tour in Indonesia (BBWI) program synergy will be able to revive the tourism sector and the creative economy in the country.
"If we succeed in marrying Proudly Made in Indonesia and Proud to Travel in Indonesia, then later the contribution of domestic products to this economy will make us 'hosts' in our own country, including success in achieving Indonesia Gold in 2045," said Tourism Minister Sandiaga at the launching the BBWI movement during the 2022 BBI Award at the Mulia Hotel, Central Jakarta Tuesday, December 13, 2022.
Sandiaga explained that BBWI is a movement that activates and encourages the mobility of domestic tourists with a target of 1.4 billion tourists.
Sandiaga hopes that this movement can activate and grow creative economy centers in tourist destinations in Indonesia.
"If we look at many domestic tourists who have so far chosen to travel abroad because they are not familiar with our top destinations. Apart from Bali, there are five super-priority destinations, namely Lake Toba, Borobudur, Mandalika, Likupang, and Labuan Bajo. Apart from that, there are leading destinations such as Banyuwangi, Tanjung Lesung, Wakatobi, to Raja Ampat," said Sandiaga.
Sandiaga said that by appointing these destinations as destinations for domestic tourists, it was expected to generate more than Rp3,000 trillion in revenue from tourism.

"So that a total of 45 million jobs generated by the tourism and creative economy sectors we can continue to develop in the future. Because we travel, we always consume (creative economy) products and we direct (to use) local products,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of State Owned Enterprise (BUMN) Kartika Wirjoatmodjo added that Gernas BBI, which was initiated by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and the Ministry of BUMN.
Since 2020, Gernas BBI has succeeded in digitizing 21 million MSMEs and has generated a national goods expenditure figure of Rp500 trillion.
