Pendung Talang Genting Tourism Village Enters Ranks of Top 50 Tourism Villages in ADWI

JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Pendung Talang Genting Tourism Village (Pentagen) in Kerinci Regency, Jambi Province, is included in the top 50 best tourist villages in the 2022 Indonesian Tourism Village Award (ADWI) event.

With a superior attraction in the form of artificial tourism based on a water tourism park (Taman Pertiwi) wrapped with the cool natural nuances of Kerinci Regency.

The tourist area in the Pentagen Tourism Village, known as Taman Pertiwi, was once a 1.8-hectare swamp that was neglected.

However, since 2017, by the Village Owned Enterprises(BUMDES) Taman Pertiwi managed by local residents, this area has been developed so that it can provide broad benefits to the community.

This tourist village, which is located at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level, has been specifically developing tourism since 2017 by utilizing village funds, with the physical fund budget focused on swamps that have been developed into village ponds.

"Alhamdulillah, Pentagen Tourism Village has managed to penetrate the top 50 best villages in Indonesia.

We have seen how the initiation of the creation of the nation's children in turning swamps that have no economic value into a lake or here called a reservoir. Not only for irrigation, fisheries but also for tourist parks," said Tourism Minister Sandiaga Uno in a press release published on Kemenparekraf.go.id, Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
