JAKARTADAILY.ID – Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Salahudin Uno encouraged Makassar Hasanuddin University (Unhas) students to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and create business opportunities with the spirit of innovation, adaptation, and collaboration supported by digitalization to be able to present quality and competitive products.
Sandiaga Uno was at the "Creative Economy Chat with Sandi Uno" event on Wednesday, September 7, 2022, at Hasanuddin University Makassar.
The Ministry of Tourism has various programs students can use to develop their businesses. The Minister of Tourism is ready to curate the products produced by Hasanuddin University students to be followed by several programs of the Minister of Tourism such as Independent Entrepreneurs (Widuri) or Packaging Design Surgery (BEDAKAN).
"We will help curation to participate in the Minister of Tourism's program with Widuri, and we will also help improve packaging and we will include it with the BEDAKAN program. And, later if we 'grade up', we will participate in the Indonesian Creative Appreciation (AKI) program. This is a form of real and concrete support that we give to students who have business products," said Tourism Minister Sandiaga in a press release published on their official website on Wednesday.
"Creating creative content with digitalization affects business improvement, therefore Unhas friends must start going digital," said Tourism Minister Sandiaga Uno.
Minister of Tourism Sandiaga said that the creative economy is one of the largest contributing sectors to the national gross domestic product (GDP) with a contribution value of 7.8 percent. This number is supported by three main sub-sectors namely culinary, fashion and craft.
This number also places Indonesia in the world's third largest in terms of contribution to national GDP, behind the United States with Hollywood and South Korea with K-Pop.
