Minister of Tourism: JF3 Becomes Momentum for Fashion and Culinary Awakening in Jakarta

JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian Tourism Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno stated that the Jakarta Fashion and Food Festival (JF3) provided momentum for the revival of the fashion and culinary sub-sectors in Jakarta after the pandemic.

JF3 is part of the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2022 series of events which is promoted in a package with other events from various provinces on an annual basis. And they assess that JF3 plays a very vital role in efforts to develop the creative economy sector in Indonesia.

In the opening of JF3 at Mall Kelapa Gading, North Jakarta, Thursday, September 1, 2022, Minister of Tourism Sandiaga Salahudin Uno said that this activity is expected to provide a multiplier effect that can stimulate the creative economy sector, especially in the fashion and culinary sub-sectors.

"We hope that this (JF3) can be a momentum for the revival of fashion and culinary in the archipelago," said Sandiaga in a press release published on kemenparekraf.co.id, Thursday, September 1, 2022.

This development, said Sandiaga, is very important, this is because the creative economy sector in Indonesia has managed to contribute more than Rp 1.300 trillion to Indonesia's gross domestic product (GDP).

"Of the contribution of more than Rp 1.300 trillion to the national GDP, 75 percent of it is generated from three main sub-sectors, namely crafts, fashion, and culinary, and at JF3 all three are present," said Sandiaga.

"The development of these three sub-sectors will be very vital because last year Indonesia was able to penetrate the export figure of $ 25 billion dollars and the product with the highest export was fashion," continued Sandiaga.
