JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Ministry of Tourism through the Deputy for Industry & Investment aims to improve the quality of documentaries made in Indonesia through the "Docs By The Sea" forum.
This forum will be held on 22-26 August 2022 online and offline at The Patra Bali Resort & Villas, Kuta, where Documentary filmmakers had pitching sessions.
In a press release published on the Ministry of Tourism website on Wednesday, August 25, 2022, Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno in his statement said that the activity which was carried out as a result of collaboration between the Directorate of Access to Financing of the Ministry of Tourism and In-Docs was attended by filmmakers.

This Documentary originating from Indonesia and also various countries in the world is carried out to support the development of the Documentary film industry, especially in Indonesia.
“During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Documentary film industry experienced very rapid development.” Said Sandiaga Uno
Requires the parties involved to be creative in finding ways to survive. However, this condition turned out to be able to arouse the enthusiasm of Documentary filmmakers to innovate and adapt to the circumstances.

"With the presence of more than 90 international documentaries, Docs by the Sea 2022 is a leading platform for new filmmakers in Asia to launch their projects and seize opportunities to participate in prestigious international Documentary forums. economic revival and also opening up job opportunities for film actors in Indonesia," he continued.
To prepare for the pitching session, since July 2022, filmmakers from 26 Documentary film projects that have passed the selection have participated in a series of intensive workshops with international mentors divided into three pitching categories. Where seven of the 26 films are from Indonesia.
