JAKARTADAILY - Indonesia's economic recovery, from the Covid-19 Pandemic, is increasingly visible, as indicated by the falling new positive cases in the country, which has been far lower than the peak in July 2021.

The pandemic has caused serious pressures on people's activities as well as the economy.

However, on the other hand, there is a lot of creativity that has flourished in the community, including in open door sports, such as Golf.

PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI is aware of this new preference by supporting the Xpora Virtual Golf Tour competition.

This competition has now entered the final round which will be held offline in Bali on 27 – 28 November 2021.

The organizer of the event claim that this is the largest digital golf competition in Indonesia during the pandemic, which was held with the maximum Health Protocol.

BNI Corporate Secretary Mucharom said that BNI's support for the Xpora Virtual Golf Tour competition was not without reason.

He said such event deserves supports, first, because it will increase activities in sport tourism sector, especially in Bali, Indonesia's main tourist destination, which has been hit hard by the pandemic.

Second, such event is expected to provide a multiplier effect to boost the economy.

Third, Mucharom said such event will help distribution of welfare through charity in the golf event.

Fourth, the event is expected to become an arena for exploring the talents of young national golfers.

Prior to the final round on the island of Bali, the Xpora Virtual Golf Tour was held in a series of competitions attended by around 1,000 golfers. In the two-day finals, 104 golfers were selected.

"By bringing that many golfers to Bali, we hope that it will help Bali recover, hotels can be replenished, travel, tourist transportation will come back to life, and local SMEs will resume their activities. In essence, with Xpora Virtual Golf 2021, we are proactive in developing the tourism ecosystem. In addition, the golfers who will win this competition are young golfers who excel. We also hope that the best female golfers will appear in this event,” said Mucharom.
