JAKARTADAILY.ID – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno supports West Sumatra to host the 2023 World Islamic Entrepreneur Summit (WIES).
Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno during The Weekly Brief With Sandi Uno in Jakarta, Monday, March 20, 2023, said that the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in collaboration with the West Sumatra Regional Tourism Promotion Agency and the West Sumatra Provincial Government will hold WIES in September 2023 and it is proposed to be held at the West Sumatra Great Mosque.
WIES is also expected to become one of the accelerators in efforts to realize Indonesia as a world halal center.
"We hope that this event can initiate the birth of the Global Muslimpreneur Forum which is the first Muslim entrepreneur forum association in the world based in West Sumatra," said Menparekraf Sandiaga.

WIES itself plans to have the theme "Fostering Islamic Economic Growth Through Muslim Preneurship in Digital Transformation Era", and is expected to create collaboration between the government and entrepreneurs so as to be able to strengthen networks and ecosystems of business, tourism, and halal MSMEs that are innovative and adaptable to the 4.0 era.
By maximizing collaboration with Islamic countries and Muslim-friendly destinations, this forum is perfect for establishing cooperation between Muslim countries and the Youth Business Muslimpreneur Forum and Woman Muslimpreneur.
"The Global Muslimpreneur Forum can make Indonesia a center of excellent Muslimpreneurs, and make West Sumatra one of the world-class MICE destinations," he said
On this occasion, all echelon I and II ranks within the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy were present online and offline.
