JAKARTADAILY.ID – Pelita Air Service made its first flight on the Jakarta-Balikpapan-Jakarta route from Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK) to Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan International Airport, Monday, March 20, 2023.

The Jakarta-Balikpapan-Jakarta route is Pelita Air's 4th scheduled or regular flight route after previously opening flight routes from Jakarta to Bali, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya and the opposite direction.

The route's maiden flight ceremony was held at Terminal 3, Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK) in the form of a ribbon cutting which was carried out by Dendy Kurniawan, Main Director of Pelita Air Service and Edy Karyanto as SVP Upstream & Portfolio Co. PT Pertamina (Persero) Business Development & Portfolio.

Edy Karyanto said that this inaugural flight was a great achievement and a concrete form of Pelita Air's contribution to the Indonesian people in improving air connectivity.

The public's response to Pelita Air's presence was extraordinary, as evidenced by the almost full occupancy rate of this morning's flight to Balikpapan.

PT Pertamina as the holding company for Pelita Air said it will continue to provide support for Pelita Air's development plan to continue to provide the best service to the people of Indonesia.

Adding to what Edy Karyanto said, Dendy Kurniawan said that the inaugural flight to Balikpapan this morning had a load factor of almost 100 percent, which certainly shows that the public's interest in Pelita Air's new flights and routes is extraordinary.

The opening of this new route to Balikpapan is of course hoped to also answer the needs of Pertamina group in providing air transportation modes for Pertamina group business activities in Balikpapan and its surroundings, as well as answering the needs of the people who have begun to increase their activities to Balikpapan in relation to the Government's plan to realize the National Capital City. IKN) in East Kalimantan.

Even though it has not been even a year since the launch of the first scheduled flight last year (28 April 2022), Dendy sees that the very positive response from Pelita Air has begun to be reflected in the load factor of Pelita Air flights.

In the future, of course, Pelita Air will continue to add new destinations to support National air connectivity with the best service, but still at affordable prices.
