JAKARTADAILY.ID – President Joko Widodo announced that the implementation of restrictions on community activities (PPKM) has ended.
"In the last few months, the Covid-19 pandemic has been getting under control. As of December 27, 2022, daily cases were 1.7 cases per 1 million population," Jokowi explained, launching the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube broadcast, Friday, December 30, 2022.
"After reviewing and considering this, we will review it for 10 months, through consideration based on the existing figures. The government has decided to revoke the PPKM," he added.
The PPKM was implemented to replace large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) during the Corona or Covid-19 pandemic.
PPKM is enforced at a number of levels, from level 1 to level 4.
The higher the PPKM level in an area means the stricter the restrictions that apply.
In the last few days, the government has also implemented level 1 PPKM throughout the country since the Covid-19 case began to decline.
Previously, Jokowi conveyed his plan to stop PPKM. According to him, the Covid-19 pandemic situation in Indonesia is under control.
President Joko Widodo also emphasized that social assistance to the community would continue even though the PPKM was repealed.
The Head of State emphasized that the public does not need to worry about social assistance.
"I also need to say that there should be no worries, even though the PPKM is revoked, social assistance will continue," said Jokowi.
