JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian Food and Drug Agency (BPOM) has permitted the Pfizer-type Covid-19 vaccine to be used specifically for children.
The existence of these two vaccines adds to the choice of primary vaccination for children with an age range of 6 months to less than 12 years.
Head of Jakarta’s Health Office Epidemiology and Immunization Surveillance Section, Ngabila Salama, said that every time there is a permit to use it from BPOM, it doesn't automatically have to be injected right away.

Even though there is already a permit from BPOM, Ngabila emphasized that the policy must pass Ministry of Health regulations.
"A written regulation is needed from the Ministry of Health regarding this," said Ngabila reported by pmjnews.com, Friday, December 30, 2022.
Ngabila further explained the regulation in question is related to dosage, method of administration, along with other matters. He also hopes that the public will be patient with this information.
If indeed a use permit has been issued from BPOM, said Ngabila, the Indonesian Technical Advisory Group of Immunization (ITAGI) will review and re-examine the vaccine. If needed, of course, a written letter of recommendation is made to the Ministry of Health.
"We urge the public to continue to be optimistic and survive as long as the pandemic status has not been revoked," said Ngabila.
