JAKARTADAILY.ID – Indonesian national police have officially named the boss of CV Samudera Chemical, with the initials E, a fugitive in the acute kidney failure cases which caused the deaths of hundreds of children.
Police Brigadier General Pipit Rismanto from the Directorate of Certain Crimes (Dittipidter) of The Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) of the National Police said that the police also stopped suspect E from traveling abroad.
"We have issued a DPO (People Wanted List) and have also banned him (from traveling abroad)," explained Pipit Rismanto to the media crew, Sunday, November 27, 2022.

Previously, E was named as a suspect in the acute kidney failure cases which caused the deaths of hundreds of children.
E, through his company allegedly supplied lethal amounts of ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol, which were then used to produce the syrup medicines that caused acute kidney failures among children.
Besides CV Samudera Chemical, Bareskrim Polri also named PT Afi Farma as a suspect in cases of acute kidney failure in Indonesia. The two companies have different but interrelated roles.

PT Afi Farma is a manufacturer of syrup drugs that contain levels of Ethylene Glycol (EG) and Diethylene Glycol (DEG) that exceed the threshold. Meanwhile, CV Samudra Chemical is a supplier of raw materials for PT Afi Farma.
EG and DEG are strongly suspected of being the cause of many deaths in children with kidney failure.
