JAKARTADAILY.ID – First Deputy of the Indonesian Ministry of SOEs, Pahala Mansury stated that SOEs' current challenge is building a healthcare ecosystem.
During the panel discussion "Healthcare Transformation and Developing Global Cooperation in Health," Pahala said that as one of the five largest vaccine-exporting countries in the world, Indonesia is still dependent on other countries in the production of Covid-19 vaccines.
"What we've learned from the pandemic is the importance of building a healthcare ecosystem. Bio Farma, a state-owned company in the health sector, is one of the five largest vaccine exporters in the world but has difficulty making a Covid-19 vaccine. Another thing is the importance of developing independence in healthcare services," said Pahala in a press release on Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
Pahala added that the pandemic has also brought new innovations in the health sector, namely the PeduliLindung application. This breakthrough in the digital sector integrates patient data and can be used to improve health services to the community.
Pahala said that e-Health has the potential to simplify the administrative procedures for prescribing drugs electronically. Therefore, SOEs in the health sector such as Health Social Security Administering Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) must also start to form a digital ecosystem.
The Ministry of SOEs held the SOE International Conference: Driving Sustainable and Inclusive Growth on 17-18 October 2022 in Bali. This event is part of the Trade, Investment, and Industry Working Group (TIIWG) Road to G20.
The SOE International Conference was held as the government's commitment to supporting the implementation of the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aspects, particularly in the health sector, financial inclusion, digital transformation, and energy transition.
