JAKARTADAILY.ID – The Ministry of Industry continues to accelerate the implementation of the third or booster dose of vaccination for workers in all industrial sectors. The provision of this booster vaccine becomes a bulwark of defense to maintain productivity in the industrial sector so as to accelerate the recovery of the national economy.

"To achieve this target, it is necessary to carry out collaborative efforts as a step to accelerate booster vaccination in the industrial sector," said the Director of the Beverage, Tobacco and Refreshment Industry at the Ministry of Industry, Edy Sutopo in Jakarta, Friday, March 18, 2022.

Edy conveyed that his party gave appreciation to its fostered sectors such as the tobacco products industry which is increasingly facilitating employees and their families to receive booster vaccines. Even to the community around the factory.

“One example is PT HM Sampoerna Tbk. This company has carried out massive Covid-19 booster vaccinations. Sampoerna's contribution is extraordinary because it has carried out Covid-19 booster vaccinations for up to 6,900 of its employees in Surabaya, including its foster partners from the Sampoerna Retail Community (SRC)," he explained.

Edy assessed that Sampoerna has always been proactive in supporting government policies related to the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. "Vaccination and strict health protocols are a joint effort to stay healthy and ensure the industrial sector continues to run so that it can contribute to the national economy," he added.

Sampoerna Director Elvira Lianita expressed her appreciation to the government, health workers, and stakeholders for the good collaboration in the implementation of the Covid-19 booster vaccination. Collaboration has proven to be a fast step to expand the reach of Covid-19 booster vaccinations, including for the industrial sector.

“We believe vaccination can create resilience for Indonesia. So that this can encourage the industrial and economic sectors in Indonesia to continue to be empowered," he said.

He continued, the safety and health of employees are a top priority for the company. To that end, Sampoerna has facilitated booster vaccinations for employees since early February. Currently, 55% or more than 36,000 Sampoerna employees throughout Indonesia have received the booster vaccine.

"By the end of 2021, all employees have been vaccinated against the first and second doses. This year, we are trying to get the booster vaccine to reach 65,000 of Sampoerna's direct and indirect employees,” said Elvira.
