Jakarta Provincial Government Uses GOR as Self-Isolating Center Due to COVID-19 Boom

JAKARTADAILY.ID - Jakarta Provincial Government will maximize sports buildings (GOR) as a place for self-isolation seeing the rise of Covid 19 cases.

Sub Coordinator for Emergency and Refugee Handling Wardaya said his people are reinventarizing the GOR which was used on the second wave for self-isolation.

“The GOR is only used only in an urgent situation, then we make our move,” Wardaya said on Thursday, February 3, 2022. He also said to have prepared five other locations which are Graha Wisata, Taman Mini, Ragunan, Cik's Mansion, LPMP, dan Hasyim Asyari mosque.

Graha Wisata is ready to be used for self-isolation. A number of facilities have even been set up to use with a total capacity of 300 units.

Wardaya have also prepared flats including Rusun Daan Mogot, Rusun Nagrak, dan Rusun Pasar Rumput. “But they [the flats] are managed by BPNB, in this case, Kodam Jaya,” he said.

According to the Jakarta Provincial Government official website, the city’s COVID-19 cases have risen by 10,317 making the total number of cases to 939.192 in Jakarta alone.

Meanwhile, the number of active cases in Jakarta has increased by 5.926 making the total number of hospitalized or isolating patients to 47,900 people. Also reported addition of 1,062 hospitalized patients making a total of 9,652 people. And the number of self-isolating patients increased by 4,864 making a total of 38,248 people.

On the second wave of COVID-19, Governor Anies Baswedan highlighted the Governor Decree Number 891 of 2021 concerning Determination of Isolation Locations and Standard Operating Procedures for Management of Isolation Locations in the Context of Handling COVID-19. According to it, there are 184 locations fit to use as a self-isolation center.
