The restrictions on international travelers who will enter the Indonesian Territory are set by the Directorate General of Immigration on November 28, 2021. This new rule prohibits the entry of foreigners into the Indonesian Territory for those who have a travel history to visit the territories of eight African countries within 14 days before entering Indonesian territory.
The Head of Public Relations and General Affairs of the Directorate General of Immigration Arya Pradhana Anggakara explained, "If there are foreigners who have visited these countries within the past 14 days, they will be immediately refused entry to Indonesia at the Immigration Checkpoints," he said.
The Directorate General of Immigration has also temporarily suspended the granting of visit visas and limited stay visas for citizens of Mozambique, South Africa, Nigeria, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Botswana, and Eswatini.
According to Anggakara, the rules for restricting the entry of foreigners and the temporary suspension of visas for related countries will take effect on Monday, November 29, 2021.
As for foreigners other than those countries, Anggakara added that currently, the restrictions on the regulations according to the Minister of Law and Human Rights Regulation Number 34 of 2021 concerning the Granting of Immigration Visas and Residence Permits are still in effect during the Handling of the 2019 Corona Virus Disease Spread and Economic Recovery.
